The Engineering For Kids of New Mexico Learning Center is moving!
During the month of May, the EFKNM Learning Center will be relocating across the street to the Sandia Electro-Optics Corporation building at 3100 Menaul Blvd NE. Some of you may know this as our Satellite Location. The Learning Center will take over the space currently occupied by the SE-OC Right Brain Gallery, which will be closing permanently on April 16. All ABQLC camps, including before and after care, will be meeting at this location. Spring classes will meet at the current Learning Center location, but may be transitioned to the new location sometime during the course of the class. If you have questions or concerns, please email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org or call: 505-816-0215.
The Next Kids' Night Out is May 6, 2016.
This will be our final Kids' Night Out for Spring.
Please watch for Kids' Night Out to return in the fall.
Meet the Owners:
Joyce and Michael J. Cumbo, Ph.D.
Joyce and Mike are the Founders of Sandia Electro-Optics Corporation (www.SE-OC.com
), which owns the EFK franchise for all of New Mexico. Joyce earned a BS in Journalism from the University of Maryland and has many years of administrative, customer service, human resources, and other back-end office experience to draw upon in her full time role as the Director of Engineering For Kids of New Mexico. Mike is a successful high tech executive and serial entrepreneur who has succeeded in large part because of the business opportunities that were opened to him through education in STEM. He earned a B.S. in physics, an M.S. in optical engineering and a Ph.D. in optics from the University of Rochester, and an M.S. in electrical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology. Some of our students may be lucky enough to have "Dr. Mike" as one of their teachers! Joyce and Mike have 4 children who have successfully been raised to adulthood and they are passionate about helping to motivate and prepare New Mexico's next generation of technology workers.
Our team members share our passion to inspire the next generation of Engineers. Every staff member goes through a national background check and fingerprinting process and our teaching staff is fully trained in Engineering For Kids' award-winning curriculum and classroom management methods. Children in our programs receive a high quality learning experience in a safe and nurturing environment. If you love working with children and are interested in becoming part of our Team, please contact us at: NewMexico@EngineeringForKids.net
Testimonials"Engineering for Kids is
wonderful. Our granddaughter attended one of the workshops on Straw
Rockets. She is 4 ½ and she loved it! She is very
quiet, but after the class, she came home and wanted to make straw rockets all
weekend. She talked nonstop about the teachers and how far her
rockets flew. This was a great experience for her! We recommend these classes for all kids and it is fun for the parents (or
grandparents) to watch also." - Robert L.
