Macomb County ClassesFall 2013 After-School, Evening, & Weekend Programs
Students use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and refine a variety of flying machines. They construct a shock absorbing system designed to protect two marshmallow astronauts in a lunar vehicle, create their own air-powered rockets, and assemble a hot air balloon model that actually takes flight!

Electronic Game Design - Tower Defense GamesStudents will use Multimedia Fusion 2® to create their own unique video game. A tower defense game is one in which the programmer creates towers to defend a base by firing at passing enemies. At the end of the class, students take home a copy of the unique game they create!

LEGO® Robotics Mindstorms™
Students will learn to design, program, and control fully functional robotic models. They will use software to plan, test, and modify sequences of instructions for a variety of life-like robotic behaviors. They will also learn to collect and analyze data from the robots' sensors. This program will provide a series of real-life activities, covering topics within science, technology, engineering, and mathematics all using LEGO® Robotics.

Students use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and refine a variety of machines and mechanical systems. Students learn basics of fluid mechanics, simple machines, and other design and engineering concepts while constructing roller coasters, egg-drop vehicles, and an incredibly fast air powered dragster that they keep at the end of the course.

Want to bring Engineering For Kids to your facility?
Hosting Engineering For Kids® classes at your school is easy, we do all of the work! We will create all necessary marketing publications, as well as complete registration and payment processing. Our instructors are professionally-trained and know how to make learning fun. Our lessons are appropriate and designed for students ages 4-14.
Your school has the option to include us in your existing enrichment schedule or to use us as a stand-alone program. Our programs may run any day of the week and our sessions may start any week of the school year (4, 6, and 8-week sessions available). All of our programs are provided at no cost to your school!
Engineering For Kids® offers additional classes beyond the schools! We work with local community centers, as well as parks and recreation centers, to provide evening and weekend classes.
