Electronic Game Design: Platform Games - Ninja Attack!

Sept 16 - Oct 21, 6:15pm - 7:45pm

Class location: Macomb Township Recreation Center

(Ages 8-14)

Video games are everywhere and in almost every form you can imagine! In Electronic Game Design: Ninja Attack!, we will create our own version of a Platform game set in a dojo that we will defend from a ninja attack! We will use the Engineering Design Process to create a storyboard to outline the rules of play and characters for our game. Then, we will use Clickteam Fusion 2.5® to bring our storyboard to life with programming. At the end of the class, everyone takes home a working Windows-compatible game (Clickteam Fusion 2.5® does not support Mac or Android operating systems).

Electronic Game Design: Invader Defense - Shark Attack!

Sept 29 - Dec 8, 3:30pm - 4:30pm

Class location: Immanuel Lutheran School, Art Room

(3rd-5th grade)

 Watch out! It’s a shark attack! In Invader Defense: Shark Attack, we will create our own version of an invader defense game that will allow us to protect a coral reef from hungry sharks. We will use the Engineering Design Process to create a storyboard and outline the rules of play for our game. Then we will use Clickteam Fusion 2.5® to bring our storyboard to life with programming. At the end of the program, everyone takes home a working Windows-compatible game (Clickteam Fusion 2.5® does not support Mac or Android operating systems).

Electronic Game Design: Racing Games - Hydrocrafts

Nov 4 - Dec 16, 6:15pm - 7:45pm

Class location: Macomb Township Recreation Center

(Ages 8-14)

Prepare for some fast splashing fun as we use the Engineering Design Process to design and create our very own racing game to race our personally designed hydrocrafts! We will create a storyboard to identify and capture the rules of play and characters for our game, and then use Clickteam Fusion 2.5® to bring our storyboard to life with programming. At the end of the unit, everyone takes home a working Windows-compatible game (Clickteam Fusion 2.5® does not support Mac or Android operating systems).

Want to bring Engineering For Kids to your facility?


Hosting Engineering For Kids® classes at your school is easy, we do all of the work! We will create all necessary marketing publications, as well as complete registration and payment processing. Our instructors are professionally-trained and know how to make learning fun. Our lessons are appropriate and designed for students ages 4-14.

Your school has the option to include us in your existing enrichment schedule or to use us as a stand-alone program. Our programs may run any day of the week and our sessions may start any week of the school year (4, 6, and 8-week sessions available). All of our programs are provided at no cost to your school!

Engineering For Kids® offers additional classes beyond the schools! We work with local community centers, as well as parks and recreation centers, to provide evening and weekend classes.
